To the Parents and Care Givers

First, let me thank you for your support and understanding as we, as a nation and community, responded to the unexpected invasion of COVID-19 in March. I am very proud of the way our ASI Children’s Center children, parents, teachers and staff handled the demands we were faced with to protect everyone as we continued to support our children during the most unusual of circumstances.

As you know, there continues to be concerns and questions related to how schools plan to reopen. While we are in the business of educating, our first priority is the safety of our children and our employees. Be assured, we have been working diligently on our ASI Children’s Center Restart Plans. However, as COVID-19 factors and information unfold, the economic effects together with requirements for reopening make it impracticable to proceed with opening the center during the pandemic for the Fall semester. While we tried to avoid this result, we anticipate that the Children’s Center will be closed for at least several months.  The last day of enrollment is Friday, August 28, 2020.

We thank you for entrusting the care of your children with our dedicated teachers and staff.  We are all committed to supporting your children in these transitions as smoothly as possible.

Should you have any questions please feel free to contact me or Program Director, Candie McClendon-Childress at cchildress@csudh.edu.

Thank you for your continued support,

Rasheedah Shakoor; ASI Executive Director
